Cody Bellinger unanimous choice for National League Rookie of the Year

Bellinger is the third straight unanimous NL winner, following Corey Seager and Kris Bryant

For the second straight year, a member of the Los Angeles Dodgers has won the National League Rookie of the Year award.

Outfielder Cody Bellinger, 22, was a unanimous pick for the award after batting .267 with 39 home runs and 97 runs batted in for the Dodgers. He is the third straight unanimous choice for the NL prize, following teammate Corey Seager (2016) and Cubs third baseman Kris Bryant (2015).

Rockies pitchers German Marquez and Kyle Freeland finished fifth and seventh in the voting, respectively.

Aaron Judge of the Yankees was the unanimous pick for the American League Rookie of the Year award.

Ballots from two writers in each league city prior to postseason play are tabulated on a system that rewards five points for first place, three points for second place and one point for third place.
