George F. Will has it right, and he has it wrong. Raiding university endowments is wrong — that part he has right about Republican tax reform. Claiming it has progressive fingerprints all over it is the part he has wrong. Republicans and the conservative right have demonstrated their profound fear of rational thought and reason that comes from institutions of higher education. This is predictable conservative thumb-in-your-eye policy and leadership, and it’s alive and well in Trump nation.
