Another California restaurant chain wants to make its mark in Colorado Springs.

Lazy Dog Restaurant & Bar, which boasts an expansive menu, ski lodge-like decor and canine-friendly atmosphere, plans to open at the site of the former My Big Fat Greek Restaurant at 7605 N. Academy Blvd., according to a proposal submitted to city planners.

Lazy Dog, based in Huntington Beach, Calif., would tear down the 23-year-old, roughly 7,300-square-foot building that had housed My Big Fat Greek Restaurant until it closed in December 2013, the chain’s proposal shows. In its place, Lazy Dog would construct an 8,409-square-foot restaurant with a 1,668-square-foot patio.
