Body of missing Fort Collins woman found in state park; homicide investigation begins

A body found in a park west of Fort Collins has been identified, and the woman’s death is being investigated as a homicide.

On Wednesday a park ranger discovered the body of Kimberlee Graves, 41, in Lory State Park, according to Fort Collins police. The Larimer County coroner’s office identified Graves and determined her manner of death a homicide.

Police have been investigating Graves’ “disappearance” since early December. She was last seen at her Akin Avenue home on Dec. 4, police said. On Dec. 8, a friend call police and requested a welfare check on Graves.

Police went by the home but no one answered the door. The friend went into her home Dec. 10 and found the residence ransacked.

On Dec. 13, Graves’ car was found unattended at a Fort Collins parking garage.
