For Canada’s Jocelyne Larocque, silver wasn’t good enough at the Olympics in PyeongChang.

After the United States defeated Canada in overtime — off of an amazing shootout goal by Jocelyne Lamoureux-Davidson — Larocque immediately removed her silver medal after she was awarded it in the post-game ceremony.

From The Associated Press:

The Canadians, who had pushed the Americans around for much of the game and taken penalties for it, wept on the ice as they accepted their silver medals. Jocelyne Larocque took hers off immediately and held it in her hands as the Americans stood nearby awaiting their gold.

“Itap just hard,” Larocque said. “You work so hard. We wanted gold but didn’t get it.”
