A Colorado man who was sentenced to more than 300 years in prison for sexually assaulting six children — and released Tuesday on an appeals court ruling — is back behind bars.
Michael McFadden, 46, was arrested Friday in Colorado Springs for failure to register as a sex offender, according to the Colorado Springs Police Department.
McFadden was sentenced to the Colorado Department of Corrections after a 2015 conviction for sexual assault on a child. The conviction was overturned when the appeals court ruled that his right to a speedy trial had been violated.
His arrest on Friday in Colorado Springs was “related to an earlier sexual assault on a child conviction which required him to register as a sex offender,” the police department said.
On Friday he was being held at the El Paso County Jail.
