Weather forecasters predict warm temperatures and sunny skies the next few days in the Denver metro area, but have issued a red flag warning on the southeastern and central plains.

Denver metro area high temperatures are projected to reach 68 degrees on Friday and 69 on Saturday, according to the National Weather Service in Boulder.

The weather service issued a red flag warning for much of the eastern half of Colorado from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Friday. Winds will gust up to 30 mph.

Temperatures will begin to decline on Sunday and drop more as the work week begins.

Expect highs near 55 degrees on Sunday, and about 44 both Monday and Tuesday, the weather service says.
