As long as the Denver Comic Con has been around, there’s been beer to go with it.

The DCC and Breckenridge Brewery on Wednesday launched the 2018 Denver Comic Con beer-naming contest. The seventh annual competition invites fans to come up with a creative moniker for the convention’s official brew.

Suggestions can be made on Ի or . The owner of the winning entry gets a prize package that includes free beer for a year and a DCC tap handle. As in previous years, a local artist will create a custom design based on the name for a special pint glass.

This year’s beer is a raspberry witbier. Breckenridge Brewery describes it as: “A time-honored, Belgian-style ale with a tart pink twist. Brewed with unmalted wheat, orange zest, coriander and fresh raspberry puree, this unfiltered, light-bodied beer has fruity notes of raspberry and citrus, a touch of spice, and a pink blush of color. Refreshing. Surprising. Sprightly. Whimsical.”

Entries will be accepted until 9 p.m. March 26. Five finalists will be named on March 27 and placed in a fan vote.

Previous beer names include “The Fantastic Pour” (2012), “The Caped Brewsader” (2013), “Brews Wayne” (2014), “Hulk’s Mash” (2015), “Snape-ricot” (2016) and “I am Brewt” (2017).
