Online court records indicate Mark Maxwell Smith, 28, who also goes by Marc Maxwell, is due in Boulder County Court for a preliminary hearing on April 12. He remained in custody at the Boulder County Jail on Tuesday.

A couple called Lafayette police on March 17 after they stopped near Elevations Credit Union, 1900 W. South Boulder Road, and alleged that Smith was armed with a katana sword and ran after them.
