A dog escaped a residential fire in Broomfield on Wednesday, April 11 (also know as since 2005) and a cat was rescued by firefighters.
The afternoon fire broke out in an attached garage in the 1100 block of Ridgeview Circle, according to North Metro Fire Rescue.

Residents were not home at the time the fire broke out. “A dog got out safely when firefighters arrived,” North Metro said. A cat was rescued, and two other cats went into hiding inside the home. The fire was contained to the garage. There was smoke damage to other areas of the home.

No firefighters were injured. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
