Collision Brewing Company, a restaurant and brewery, is expected to open in mid-September on Skyway Drive adjacent to the popular east Longmont recreation area.

The nearly 10,000-square-foot, car and auto racing-themed establishment is owned by the Blythes — brothers, Jason and Eric, and father, Kent. The local family also owns Nicolo’s, a Chicago-style pizza joint on Pace Street.

Jason Blythe is Collision’s brewmaster and his brother, Eric Blythe, serves as operations manager.

Collision, which is expected to employ about 50 people, will be Jason Blythe’s first commercial brewing operation. He said he’s been a hobby brewer for about a decade.
