And the best ski resort in the West is… Aspen Snowmass, according to SKI Magazine.
SKI Magazine named two top resorts this year — one in the West and one in the East — and will feature the winners in its debut “Resorts of the Year” issue in October, according to a. Smugglers’ Notch in Vermont was named the best resort in the East.
In a statement, magazine content director Samantha Berman said Aspen Snowmass won for its variety of terrain, family-friendly offerings, dining and lodging. Additional bump-ups in the rankings came from its attitude toward the environment and inclusion in the Ikon Pass.
But Aspen Snowmass wasn’t the only Colorado ski resort getting some love. Keystone was named the most family-friendly resort for its ski school and kids’ programming. Steamboat took home the “Down Day Activities” award because of its downtown.
The magazine will hit newsstands on Sept. 25.
