
A sleepy Golden Retriever awaited surgery while curled up in Dr. Ross Henderson’s lap, her paw and head gingerly wrapped over his leg as he strummed a guitar and softly sang “I Can’t Help Falling in Love With You.”
Lakewood’s family-run Fox Hollow Animal Hospital of the interaction to Facebook in April 2017. It quickly became a viral sensation, racking up 851,000 views and 1,300 comments.
Now, the guitar-playing vet and the rest of his family behind Fox Hollow will be at the center of Animal Planetap upcoming reality show “Hanging With the Hendersons,” which follows Dr. Tony Henderson, his wife, Debbie, and their sons Ross, Ryan and Cole as they run the veterinary practice.
Naturally, the family’s pets will also get starring roles.
Tony Henderson opened Fox Hollow when his four sons were still little. All the kids grew up working in the clinic; three still do.
The show is mostly set in the hospital, but will also feature the family’s adventures with goat yoga, cat sanctuaries and house calls to a pig rescue.
“Hanging With the Hendersons” debuts Friday, Jan. 11, at 7 p.m. on Animal Planet.
