The suspect in the Lakewood police officer-involved shooting last week has been released from the hospital and publicly named.
Alfred Lee Vallejos, 46, was released from the hospital and booked into the Jefferson County Jail on suspicion of felony menacing with a deadly weapon, Lakewood police said. He is being held on a $10,000 cash bond, according to jail records.
Vallejos is scheduled for his next court appearance at 10 a.m. Monday.
Lakewood police shot the man they said was wielding a knife and threatening people and cars in the area on April 29.
Officers contacted the man at Depew Street and Third Avenue, but he allegedly ran from police and refused to comply with orders. So, officers deployed a Taser on him, but after that was ineffective, police shot him, police spokesman John Romero said previously.
