The 10-acre fire, near Dumont, is burning on private land in steep terrain, according to the U.S. Forest Service.
Firefighters at the scene include forest service crews and engines. Aircraft is also being used as part of fire suppression efforts.

The Red Elephant Hill fire is burning on the north side of the highway. There were no reports Thursday of injuries or structures threatened.
