
A stretch of Interstate 70 in South Canyon, just west of Glenwood Springs, is now partially open following a mudslide Friday.
The eastbound lanes of I-70 at New Castle have opened to traffic. Traffic in the area is expected to be slow as the westbound lanes are still be worked on.
Eastbound lanes had been closed at milepost 109, and westbound lanes at milepost 113, CDOT said Friday afternoon.
UPDATE (10:30 p.m.) Eastbound lanes of I-70 at New Castle are NOW OPEN following mudslide cleanup. Expect traffic to move through closure area at slower speeds. Cleanup efforts continue in the westbound lanes.
