Officials closed southbound Colorado Boulevard at East Mississippi Avenue Thursday morning following a water main break that has left 13 businesses without water.

The road will remain closed from Mississippi to East Louisiana Avenue for an undetermined amount of time, said a 7:29 a.m. Colorado Department of Transportation tweet.

CDOT officials have urged drivers to take alternative routes.

Jose Salas of Denver Water said emergency crews are on scene to turn off the water and fix the water break. He did not have any estimate of how long it will take to repair the water main break.
