Cotopaxi earned a win when they beat Mountain Valley 47-33 on Friday, Sept. 20.
Cotopaxi quarterback Ty Coleman led the passing attack with 150 yards through the air, tossing three touchdowns with no interceptions. Frank Ogden lead all Cotopaxi receivers with three receptions for 70 yards and two scores.
Cotopaxi’s rushing attack was lead by Tyler Sawyer who tallied 100 yards and one touchdown in the game, averaging 4.2 yards per carry. Sawyer also tacked on 50 receiving yards.
Mountain Valley quarterback Elijah Roberts led the passing attack with 58 yards through the air. Roberts also added 90 yards and one touchdown on the ground. Elijah Roberts’ favorite receiver in the ballgame was Cedar Ross, who caught five passes for 80 yards and one score.
In addition to Roberts’ effort, Tristan Martinez paced the Mountain Valley rushing attack by racking up 9 yards and one touchdown in the game.
Both teams will stay at home in their next contest, with Cotopaxi hosting Cripple Creek-Victor and Mountain Valley taking on Sierra Grande.
