Lewis-Palmer handed Canon City a loss in a 28-23 showdown on Friday, Sept. 20.
Alex Weaver powered Lewis-Palmer’s passing attack with 133 yards through the air, tossing two touchdowns with no interceptions. Weaver also chipped in one touchdown on the ground. Breckin Davis lead all Lewis-Palmer receivers with three catches for 47 yards and one score.
Johnny Hudson lead all Lewis-Palmer rushers with 195 yards in the game, averaging 7 yards per carry.
Harrison Pilafas led Canon City’s passing attack with 241 yards through the air, tossing three touchdowns and one interception. Josh Rall lead all Canon City receivers with three receptions for 103 yards and two scores.
Canon City’s ground game was paced by Raymond Cammel who accrued 89 yards in the contest, averaging 5.2 yards per carry.
Both teams will stay at home in their next contest, with Lewis-Palmer hosting Pueblo South and Canon City taking on Erie.
