Manitou Springs won by just a single point over St. Mary’s on Friday, Sept. 27.
Ethan Boren spearheaded the Manitou Springs ground game by gaining 76 yards in the contest, averaging 4.5 yards per carry.
St. Mary’s quarterback Caleb Pepper led the passing attack with 52 yards through the air. St. Mary’s leading receiver was Robbie Muehlbauer, who caught one pass for 17 yards.
St. Mary’s ground attack was spearheaded by Muehlbauer who ran for 138 yards and two touchdowns in the game, averaging 6 yards per carry. Andrew Sorensen added 56 yards on the ground, averaging 9.3 yards per carry.
Both teams will stay at home in their next contest, with Manitou Springs hosting Elizabeth and St. Mary’s taking on Buena Vista.
