Lakewood police looking for suspect in shooting that left 1 dead

Police said they do not have any information about a suspect

A 56-year-old man in Lakewood was fatally shot early Tuesday morning and police are looking for a suspect.

Lakewood police officers responded to a report of shots fired just before 12:30 a.m. at an apartment complex in the 200 block of South Teller Street, police said in a news release.

Victim Rene Perez was found dead in a parking lot. Perez was taken to a hospital and died of his injuries, according to the release.

Police do not have information on a suspect and are asking for anyone with information about the shooting, including video camera footage, to contact the department’s tip line at 303-763-6800.
