Authorities in Jefferson County are looking for a man who is a suspect in a child sex crime case.
Investigators are seeking a warrant for Michael Anthony Simms, 32, on suspicion of internet luring of a child and attempted sex assault on a child, according to the sheriff’s office.
Simms was in the area of West Chatfield Avenue and South Pierce Street on Wednesday, but deputies were not able to locate him, according to a news release. Schools in the area were temporarily on lockout status as deputies searched for Simms. He was not found.

Simms is about 5-foot-9 and 180 pounds, the sheriff’s office said. He was last seen wearing a red shirt and blue jeans.
