A 14-year-old suspected of burglary and assaulting a law officer led deputies in a vehicle pursuit Friday in Douglas County, ending in a crash after deputies used stop sticks to blow out the suspect’s tires.
The pursuit ended before 11 a.m. at Lincoln Avenue and Twenty Mile Road in Parker, with the suspect’s vehicle crashing into another car, the sheriff’s office said. No one was injured, and the teen was taken into custody.
Several roads in the area were shut down during the pursuit.
The teenage male was wanted in connection with a burglary and an assault Thursday night, the sheriff’s office said. A deputy spotted a suspect vehicle Friday morning and attempted to pull it over. The driver refused to stop. After the crash, the suspect ran from the vehicle and was caught by deputies.
An investigation is ongoing.
