Man killed in Aurora shooting

Police are still looking for a suspect in connection with the homicide

A man was fatally shot early Wednesday in Aurora, and police are looking for a suspect.

Officers responded at 2:15 a.m. report of a shooting in the 17000 block of East Kansas Place and found a man inside a house who had been shot, Aurora police said in a news release. The man died at the scene. The Arapahoe County Sheriff’s Office is expected to release his identity at a later time.

This is the second fatality in Aurora in the span of approximately two hours. A stabbing in a mobile home park at 12:20 a.m. left one woman dead and a man in critical condition.

Police did not say what prompted the shooting or if anyone else was in the area.

The investigation is ongoing. Anyone who may have seen the shooting or has information about the homicide is asked to call Aurora Police at 303-739-6106. Those who wish to remain anonymous can call Metro Denver Crime Stoppers at 720-913-7867. Tipsters may be eligible for a reward of up to $2,000.
