A stabbing early Wednesday in a mobile home park in Aurora left a woman dead and a man in critical condition.

Aurora police responded to a reported stabbing at 12:20 a.m. in the 15700 block of East Colfax Avenue, police said in a news release. Officers found a man and a woman with stab wounds inside a mobile home, and both were taken to a hospital.

The woman was declared dead, and the man remains in critical condition, police said. The Arapahoe County coroner’s office will release the woman’s identity.

Police are trying to figure out the relationship between the victims and what led to the stabbings, officials said.

Anyone with information is asked to call Aurora police at 303-739-6068 or call Metro Denver Crime Stoppers at 720-913-7867.

The fatal stabbing was the first homicide investigation in a span of about two hours Christmas morning in Aurora. Police responded to a shooting at 2:15 a.m. and found a man with gunshot wounds who died at the scene.
