A woman who was found dead in the University Park area of Denver has been identified and her death is being investigated by police as a domestic-violence homicide.
The body of Karen Morales, 38, was found on Thursday in the 2500 block of South University Boulevard where she was pronounced dead on the scene. The Denver Office of the Medical Examiner identified her on Monday. “An autopsy was completed and the cause and manner of death is pending investigation,” the coroner’s office said in a news release.
Police have arrested Thomas Garcia, 38, as a suspect in Morales’ death.
Update: This incident is being investigated as a domestic violence-related homicide. The victim is an adult female. The offender, Thomas Garcia (05/04/1981), is being held for investigation of first degree murder.
