Dismel and another man were walking their dogs on Thursday near South Parker Road and East Florida Avenue in unincorporated Arapahoe County when they got into an argument over picking up their dogs’ waste, the news release said. Dismel is accused of firing a handgun during the dispute.

At the time, a reverse 911 call went out to neighbors asking them to shelter in place because of the gunfire and while deputies searched for a suspect. Dismel was taken into custody on an arrest warrant around 5 p.m. Thursday.

He had a handgun when he was arrested, the news release said.
