Temperatures in Denver will climb into the upper 80s this week as the region enjoys mostly sunny skies.

The warm-up will start Sunday, which will see mostly sunny skies and a high temperature of 80, according to the National Weather Service at Boulder. Temperatures will creep even higher Monday, nearing 90 degrees, again with sunshine throughout the day.

Tuesday and Wednesday will both see a slight chance of an afternoon thunderstorm with highs in the mid-to-upper 80s, according to the weather service.

Temperatures will start to ease Thursday, with highs in the upper 70s for the rest of the week.
