Fort Collins police have arrested and charged a 31-year-old man in connection with breaking into a home and allegedly touching a woman.

Luis Partida-Perez was charged with unlawful sexual contact and second-degree burglary, according to a news release.

Authorities said the incident occurred about 10 p.m. Thursday. The woman, who was in bed at the time, fought back, causing the suspect to flee on foot. Officers found Partida-Perez hiding nearby, according to the news release.

“The invasion of home and privacy leaves a lasting impact on victims,” said Sgt. Heather Moore, who leads the Comes Against Persons Unit, in a statement. “I’m grateful for the rapid response of officers who quickly apprehended this suspect so he can be held accountable.”

Authorities said they are concerned that there may be additional victims; they ask anyone with information on unreported incidents to call 970-416-2195.
