One of the last of Denver’s iconic diners is closing its doors for good. Denver Diner announced Sunday that it will not reopen.

The diner has been a staple on the corner of Colfax and Speer for more than 30 years. But the restrictions placed on the business amid the COVID-19 pandemic appeared to have contributed to owner’s decision not to reopen.

The diner closed in November when Denver went to Level Red on the state’s COVID-19 dial. However, the city moved down to a less restrictive level earlier this month, which allowed for indoor dining at 25% capacity.
