On Valentine’s Day 21 years ago, two teenagers were shot and killed inside a Littleton Subway, and the killer was never caught.
Metro Denver Crime Stoppers is now offering a $100,000 reward for information that leads to an arrest in the cold case slayings of 15-year-old and his girlfriend, 16-year-old .
The teenagers were killed on Feb. 14, 2000, as Nicholas finished his shift at Subway and as Stephanie waited for him to finish up. Their bodies were found behind the counter just before 1 a.m., when an employee drove past the restaurant, noticed the lights were on and went to investigate.
After the killing, Stephanie’s mother, Kelly Grizzell, in the back of the shop, and suggested that may have led to the double homicide.
Authorities mounted an extensive investigation — the killing of the two Columbine High School students came less than a year after the mass shooting there, and — but no arrests were made.
Investigators hope the increased reward will prompt someone to come forward with information about what happened that night.
