Nikola Jokic’s game earned him his first NBA All-Star Game start, but it was his comedy chops that were on full display Sunday.
The Nuggets center finished the game with six points, seven rebounds and five assists to help Team LeBron beat Team Durant, 170-150, at State Farm Arena in Atlanta. During the news conference that followed, he joked about how he deserved the most valuable player award over teammate and Bucks forward Giannis Antetokounmpo.
“I don’t know why they’re snubbing me for the second year in a row,” . “I don’t know what’s happening. I don’t know if it’s voting …
“It all happened because of me. That’s why we won the game.”

Antetokounmpo led all players with 35 points, shooting a perfect 16-for-16 from the field, including three from beyond the arc. After winning the award, the Milwaukee star did hand over the trophy to Jokic momentarily.

In his news conference, Antetokounmpo talked about being around Jokic: “I told Niko, we got to have our own TV show. ‘Niko and Giannis’ or ‘Giannis and Niko,’ whatever,” he said. “That guy, he’s fun. I enjoy being around him.”
