Denver hit 80 degrees for the first time in 2021 on Sunday. Monday is expected to be more of the same as a streak of record-breaking high temperatures continues.

According to the National Weather Service, Denver will record a record high 83 degrees under partly sunny skies to start the week. These 80-degree days come nearly three weeks ahead of the average first 80-degree day in the Mile High City. It will drop to 43 degrees overnight Monday.
Denver’s 80°+ today is part of a clear recent trend toward earlier 80°+ days in the last ~20 years.
At both DIA + Stapleton, Denver’s first 80°+ is 7-10 days earlier than the long term average in the 21st century vs. the long term average.

A thunderstorm could roll through the area Tuesday afternoon as clouds increase and the high hits 58 degrees. Gusts near 30 mph with a 70% chance for rain will develop into possible snow later in the night as the temperature drops to 36 degrees. No accumulation is expected downtown with up to a few inches falling in the high country.
Wednesday will bring the sun’s return and mild temperatures as the high should reach 63 with a low of 36.
Denver could be back in the 70s toward the end of the week.
