Come next month in east Denver, there will be a new place to buy freshly cut flowers and newly picked fruits.

The will open May 15 with more than 60 area vendors converging at the Denver East High School Esplanade, 2551 E. Colfax Ave. Shoppers will find a wide selection of goods to suit most tastes — from organic produce and flowering baskets by of Longmont to CBD-based and bee-based skincare and honey by of Boulder.

Peter Wanberg, founder of Jubilee Roasting Co., and Margo Wanberg, co-founder of 3 Sisters Honey, are the owners of City Park Farmers Market.

“We are working with people who are passionate about growing food, using local and organic ingredients, or are somehow engaged in the local agriculture scene,” Peter Wanberg said in a news release. “We are excited to welcome some of our favorite long-standing Colorado producers alongside startups that just launched in the past year.”

Besides food and flowers, visitors will get to enjoy live music from local performers each week and a donation-based yoga classes from Big Power Yoga of Denver. The Wanbergs hope the new farmers market will allow people to get closer to those who produce the items they love and give startups that have debuted over the past year a chance to win them over.

“Creating a complete and memorable experience for our guests is also a supportive element of championing our vendors,” Margo Wanberg said in the release.

The farmers market will be open from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, May 15 through Oct. 30.
