Gray has accomplished nearly everything she can in the world of wrestling — except win a gold medal at the Olympics. At the 2016 Rio Games, she suffered an upset loss to Belarus’ Vasilisa Marzalius in the quarterfinals, finishing seventh in the event. Like a freight train, she barreled her way to Tokyo, clobbering Kylie Welker in the finals of the U.S. Olympic trials, winning both matches by technical superiority. She heads to Japan looking to add to her trophy case, which includes a gold medal at the Pan American Games, two golds at the Pan American championships and an astonishing five world championships (2012, 14-15, 18-19). — JN
