Colorado Avalanche star Nathan MacKinnon left the game early in the first period after a big hit from Boston Bruins’ Taylor Hall.
He did not return. The Avs announced before the start of the second period that their All-Star forward was dealing with an “upper body injury.”

In the end, Hall received a two-minute penalty for interference.

MacKinnon took the hit going over the middle, as his stick appeared to come up and hit him in the face during Hall’s shoulder-barge, causing blood to spew onto the ice.

Hall ended up receiving a two minute penalty for interference on the play.
