The northbound lanes of Interstate 25 south of Fountain were shutdown for about four hours on Thursday afternoon by a multi-vehicle crash.

The crash, involving eight vehicles, happened at about 12:15 p.m. in the northbound lanes about three-miles south of Fountain, said Master Trooper Gary Cutler of the Colorado State Patrol.

The collisions involved at least one semi-truck, Cutler said. Two people in vehicles were taken to local hospitals to be treated for injuries.

The northbound lanes, between Exit 119, Rancho Colorado Boulevard, and Exit 122, Pikes Peak International Raceway, reopened at about 4:20 p.m., according to the Colorado Department of Transportation.
