The annual Arvada kite festival returned after a two year hiatus due to the pandemic. Soaring, colorful and majestic kites filled the skies on an extremely windy day. The festival included over 70 vendors, food trucks, face painting and inflatables for all ages. There were also kite demos by Rocky Mountain Kite Association.

While Denver is no longer under a fire weather watch, warm and windy conditions have created red flag warnings for South Park, the southern Front Range foothills and the Palmer Divide region.

Tuesday’s weather is expected to reach a high of 75 degrees under sunny skies with winds between 5 and 11 mph and gusts reaching 18 mph, the National Weather Service said.

On Wednesday, there will be a fire weather watch from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., due to low humidity and winds between 15 and 20 mph, with gusts reaching 28 mph. The forecast also expects a high of 88 degrees and mostly sunny conditions.

Warm, sunny weather is expected through the week, with Thursday and Friday reaching 77 degrees and 80 degrees.

The weekend will be no different, with sunny conditions and weather into the 80s.
