A toddler wandering a street alone in Aurora was injured early Saturday when she was hit by a car.
The girl, who has been reunited with her parents, suffered “minor injuries,” according to police. She was found about 3:34 a.m. “in the middle” of South Chambers Road near East Ohio Avenue.
The incident was not a hit-and-run. The girl wandered out of her home after the family had gone to bed, police said.
“This is an opportunity for everyone to remember to ensure your doors are locked and also install a lock out of the reach of kid,” police said on social media.
