Autumn brings a chill to the Denver air — or maybe thatap the feeling of the invisible spirits that walk among us during the spooky season.

Halloween pop-up bars abound this time of year, bewitching Mile High haunts with creepy cocktails and demonic decor. Grab a costume and your closest ghoul pals, and check out our favorite seasonal pop-ups – if you dare.

Adrift

Adrfitap signature festive vibe gets a spooky twist during October, as the Halloween spirit invades the decor and the menu. Stop by on Red Rum Wednesdays for classic tiki drinks like a Zombie or Corpse Reviver, and seasonal libations, including the Voodoo Punch Bowl and $5 mystery shots. The bar also hosts a on Oct. 29 ($25) with a costume contest, tarot card readings and more.

Black Lagoon

A self-described goth-metal Halloween pop-up, Black Lagoon embraces cult horror for a gruesome and terrifying drinking experience. Through Oct. 31, Yacht Club, a new-ish bar in Cole, transforms into a dark dungeon complete with life-size coffins and other oddities to match the hardcore, metal and punk soundtrack.

House of Burton

Think of House of Burton, a Tim Burton-inspired pop-up at Denver’s Zeppelin Station, as a hybrid immersive experience and watering hole. The black-and-white stripe theme nods to the director’s classic “Beetlejuice” and other installations are practically begging for an Instagram photo. House of Burton is a ticketed, 90-minute drinking adventure.

Red Rum Lounge

If you want to feel the chill of the famed Stanley Hotel without driving to Estes Park, visit the Kimpton Hotel Monaco Denver, which reimagined its former spa as an ode to “The Shining.” Crews built replicas of the movie’s signature ballroom bar and other iconic sets, like the haunted bathroom, so guests can forget about all their work and go to play with a thematic cocktail in hand.
