More than 300 flights canceled at Denver International Airport as cold continues Friday

Hundreds of flights have been delayed

After a winter storm stranded hundreds of people at Denver International Airport Thursday, over 300 flights in or out of the airport have been canceled Friday as well.

, including 193 arriving flights and 138 departing flights.

Southwest has 108 canceled flights, the most of any airline at the airport; SkyWest has canceled 107; United has canceled 70; Frontier has canceled 18; Delta has canceled 10; CommutAir has canceled 8; Alaska Airlines has canceled 5; Jazz, Spirit and Allegiant Air have canceled 2 each; and American Airlines has canceled 1.

An additional 302 flights have also been delayed.

Amid the heavy travel, parking has gotten tight in some of DIA’s garages and lots. While the main garages were still open, as of 10:45 a.m. Friday, the Economy West lot was full and the Economy East lot was nearing capacity, according to the .

Among the two long-term shuttle lots, the Mt. Elbert lot was open. The Pikes Peak lot has been closed since Thursday because it was near capacity, a DIA spokeswoman said, and officials wanted to save fuel for the shuttle buses, which run on compressed natural gas, during the sub-zero cold snap.

The 61st & Peña lot next to the A-Line station was nearing capacity, the website said.
