Two men found dead near Interstate 70 in Denver identified

Police arrested one suspect in connection with the homicides

The Denver coroner identified two men found dead earlier this week on Washington Street near the Interstate 70 entrance ramp.

Michael Thompson, 32, was found dead at 12:25 p.m. Tuesday, according to a news release from the Denver Office of the Medical Examiner. The cause of death was blunt and sharp force injuries and the death was ruled a homicide, the news release stated.

Gregory Dupree, 56, was found dead at 3:10 p.m. Wednesday. His cause of death also was blunt and sharp force injuries, the news release said. The death is a homicide.

On Thursday, Denver police arrested 34-year-old Andrew Mutch in connection with the deaths, according to a Denver Police Department news release. He is being held for investigation of two counts of first-degree murder. The arrest affidavit is sealed, pending further investigation.
