Denver weather: Will an umbrella be needed on July 4?

A high temp of 91 degrees is expected in the city on Monday

Drier and warmer weather, for the most part, is settling into the metro area, but there’s a 30% chance for afternoon and evening thunderstorms on Tuesday — July 4.

Skies will be sunny on Saturday over Denver, and the high temperature will top out near 82 degrees, Winds will gust to about 22 mph. Overnight in the city skies will be mostly clear, and the low temp will dip to near 59 degrees.

On Sunday afternoon and into the night in Denver, there’s a 20% chance of thunderstorms, the weather service said. The high temp will be about 88 degrees and the overnight low will again be around 59 degrees. Skies are expected to gradually clear up overnight.

The high temperature on Monday in Denver will strike near 91 degrees under sunny skies. Skies overnight in the city will be partly cloudy, the low about 61 degrees.

On Tuesday, July 4, there’s a 30% chance of afternoon showers and thunderstorms, according to the weather service. Skies will be mostly sunny, with breezy winds and a high near 88 degrees. There’s a chance of nighttime showers and thunderstorms before 1 a.m., overnight skies will be mostly cloudy with a low temp of about 59 degrees.

Chances for storms in the region are expected to increase mid-week.
