A concrete mixer truck overturned east of Parker on Friday, seriously injuring and trapping the driver, according to South Metro Fire Rescue.

First responders spent nearly two hours stabilizing the vehicle and extricating the driver, the agency posted on X. The crash was reported near 11327 Cottontail Lane in Douglas County at 11:37 a.m.

The driver was extracted and taken to the hospital with serious injuries after an hour and 40 minutes, according to South Metro Fire Rescue.

The agency initially reported that diesel was leaking from the truck but later clarified there was no fuel spill.

Photos of the crash show the truck overturned down an embankment in dense brush.

Cottontail Lane is shut down in both directions, according to the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office. Drivers should use Robin Road and Deer Lane as a detour.

This is a developing story.
