
A Grand Junction climber was rescued Saturday after falling 120 feet in Whitewater.
The 48-year-old man was climbing in the area of Mother’s Buttress south of Grand Junction when he fell at least 120 feet from the Tooth and Claw climb, .
The sheriff’s office, sheriff’s office volunteers, Gateway Fire Department, CareFlight and the Bureau of Land Management responded to the accident.
A drone located the man and a companion on a ledge 200 feet from the base, where they waited until rescuers reached them, according to the sheriff’s office.
A helicopter took the man to a hospital, and he is in stable condition.
Colorado near the Mother’s Buttress was closed during the rescue efforts.
