Denver police are investigating a double homicide in the Central Park neighborhood where a woman and a girl died of blunt-force injuries.

Police first announced the incident at 8 a.m. Monday and said they were conducting a death investigation — a broad investigation into a death that could be criminal or accidental. An hour later, they announced the incident in the 3200 block of Syracuse Street was now considered a double homicide after finding a second victim, who was taken to a local hospital and pronounced dead.

Police spokesman Sean Towle said police continue to investigate potential weapons and motivations connected to the incident.

Police are not seeking a suspect and believe they are in contact with all the people involved in the incident, Towle said.

Denver Post staff reporter Shelly Bradbury contributed reporting.
