A man died on Saturday, Oct. 12, from a fatal gunshot wound after officers found him lying in the street in north Aurora, police said.
Aurora officers responded to the 1900 block of Kingston Street — between East 19th Avenue and East Montview Boulevard — around 2:42 p.m. on Oct. 12 after residents reported a man lying in the street with an apparent gunshot wound, according to a news release from the police department.
The block where the man was found is just north of East Colfax Avenue and near multiple parks, churches and schools.
Paramedics took the man to the hospital, where he later died from his injuries, police said.
The Adams County Coroner’s Office later identified the victim as 26-year-old Mario Arturo Lopez-Alvarado of Aurora, .
Police said investigators don’t know if the shooting happened where the man was found or at a different location. In a , police said no suspects had been identified or arrests had been made..
The shooting is under investigation and anyone with information should call Metro Denver Crime Stoppers at 720-913-7867, police said.
