This week’s patchy pre-Thanksgiving snowstorm has given way to bitter Black Friday cold across much of Colorado, as clear skies and lingering snow across the state.
As of 6 a.m., the lowest temps in Colorado had been recorded in the mountain community of Tabernash, with measurements of -27 degrees near U.S. 40 at Fraser Flats and -24 in the town itself, according to the National Weather Service. Residents of neighboring Fraser woke to a temperature of -2.
In rural Cowdrey, temps fell to -17, while readings of -12, -11 and -10 were recorded in Dillon, Jefferson and at the Tarryall Reservoir.

Sunny skies and cold are forecast in Denver as over the weekend, with highs in the 40s and overnight lows rising from 18 on Friday to 26 on Monday. NWS also warns of wind along the foothills — with 40-60 mph gusts — through Saturday morning.
