Colorado 67 reopens near Douglas County park after small wildfire

Colorado 67 reopened in Douglas County after smoke from a small closed the highway Friday afternoon, fire officials said.

The Dotts fire started burning near , north of Deckers, at around 10:42 a.m., the Elk Creek Fire Department said in a post on Facebook.

Firefighters closed Colorado 67 because of smoke at 11:27 a.m.

Flames were running through grass and brush, pushed by 20 mph winds, when crews arrived. Firefighters contained the roughly 3-acre fire and reopened the highway at 2:24 p.m.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
