A man was killed and two others were injured Sunday morning in two shootings across Aurora, police said.

Two men were shot in a parking lot near East Mississippi and South Chambers Road at about 2:17 a.m. Sunday, according to a news release from the Aurora Police Department.

Paramedics took them both to the hospital, where one man later died from his injuries, police said in the release.

As of 10 a.m. Sunday, no suspects had been arrested and the events leading up to the shooting remained under investigation.

An hour after the first shooting, and about four miles away, another man was shot in the 11500 block of East Highline Place, police said. He was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Police said multiple people, including the suspected shooter, were detained, but no one has been arrested. Investigators believe the victim and the suspect knew each other.

This is a developing story and may be updated.
